Financial Planning & Analyst Specialist - 6 months - Cork

Are you a qualified accountant with a keen eye for financial planning and analysis? Do you have experience working with large SAP accounting systems in a multinational environment?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a team as a Financial Planning & Analyst Specialist at a pharmaceutical company based in Cork,

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with relevant SLT/leads and area cost champions on budget and forecast spending, addressing variances and over-runs. You will play a crucial role in promoting cost-saving initiatives to meet site assessment and competitiveness.
  • Headcount and Capital Support: Report on headcount versus Plan & Forecast, providing financial analysis to support approvals. Take ownership of fixed assets, including Impairment, Physical inspection, and oversight of the capital plan and monthly fixed asset balances.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with non-finance colleagues on site and across Ireland, fostering strong relationships and productive interactions with site Business Shared Services (BSC).
  • R&D Tax Credits and IDA Grants: Prepare business numbers for R&D Tax Credits claims and IDA grants, contributing to financial incentives for our innovative endeavors.
  • Audit & Control Environment: Assist in maintaining an effective internal control environment, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SOX, and corporate policies. Provide support for regular internal and external audits for Inventory and Fixed Assets at the Brinny site.
  • Process Improvement & Issue Resolution: Identify and escalate issues, advising Finance leadership of potential business and operational risks. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive timely solutions. Support Finance Leadership in process improvement, policy development, and strategic initiatives.

What experience makes me an eligible candidate for the role?:

  • Qualified accountant with a Degree or Third level qualification.
  • Desirable: 1 year post-qualification experience, preferably working with large SAP accounting systems in a multinational environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, handling multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proven experience in working with virtual teams and influencing site colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence others positively.
