More recently, we have learned that our impact on people's livelihoods is not enough anymore.
As a business, we want to have a positive impact on our planet also, and we have made it our responsibility to put words into action with our social impact programme.
Recruiters.ie was established on the values of Honesty, Openness, Drive, Creativity and Fun. When we face difficult questions about ethics, people, and (more recently) our planet, we let our company values guide us. We've always called it our "Corporate Social Responsibility Policy" in the past but now we just refer to it as "Being human".
That's what our social impact programme boils down to: Being human.

As we all know, however, climate change is caused by humans.
Our social impact programme sets out ambitious goals that drive us to be more responsible humans by linking what we do as recruitment consultants to social and environmental progress for everyone.
In fact, we're really proud to be the first recruitment agency in Ireland to link vacancies filled with trees planted and to set ambitious emission reduction goals in line with the Paris Agreement.
We know that we face lots of challenges and unanswered questions.
We also know that we could be doing more and that we're not going to get this right the first time. But we are committed to being Honest and Open about our journey and sharing what we learn with our business community along the way.
We hope that sharing our progress will inspire our clients and other businesses to join us and get involved with us.
We’ve been working closely with communities and charities since 2006 and Our MD, Gerard Doyle, is on the board of GOAL Global since 2019.
But now, more than ever, we feel it's our responsibility to fight climate change and to focus on inspiring our team and the companies we work with to act.
Daily images of forest fires, flooding and weekly reports on collapsing insect numbers by 50% can no longer be ignored by businesses.
Scientists have continuously warned us about the risks of inaction. But, in a recent landmark report on stopping global warming, UN scientists have told us that without immediate action, it will be impossible to limit temperature rises to 1.5C, beyond which the most catastrophic impacts of climate change will be felt.
Humanity has less than three years to halt the rise of planet-warming carbon emissions. It's now or never.
We want to be part of the solution, right now and forever going forward.

Emissions Reduction
As part of our commitment to combat climate change, we have set science-based targets to limit warming to 1.5°C. By being the first Recruitment Agency in Ireland to commit to this, we are hoping to inspire our clients to act.
Carbon Removal
We are taking climate action to enhance the planet's natural ecosystems by planting two trees for every vacancy we fill. We estimate to plant more than 3,000 trees every year with our partners, Tree-Nation.
Coastal Cleanups
We are driving ocean sustainability efforts in Ireland through education and community involvement with our partners, Clean Coasts.
Fighting Poverty
Fighting poverty is one of our key priorities, and by supporting GOAL, we are reaching communities suffering from poverty and climate change.
We know the path to fighting poverty and climate change isn't easy. We also realize that taking climate action isn't easy because it involves resources, change and lots of open questions. We can't refuse to act just because we don't have all the resources and answers though.
The not knowing, and doing it anyway, is what leadership is to us at Recruiters.ie. If an SME like us can take action, others can too. We hope that sharing our progress inspires other companies to support us and to be part of the solution with us.
