Junior Category Manager (Insights & Retail)

Want to work for an iconic retail multiple in their marketing organisation based in Dublin? This role will work with people from Head Office to the shop floor and everywhere in between with the goal to create and deliver a fantastic customer journey for all shoppers.  

The main purpose of the role is to support the business to ensure customers central to decision making through working with Purchasing and Marketing and other stakeholders across the business.

 

The day to day

• Competitor performance on categories and identifying key performance indicators and communicate market changes and competitor development

• Create and update regular reports, analysing various internal data, and data from other market research providers

• Carry out qualitative and quantitative market research studies

• Direct exchange with market research companies, including further development of methods, continuous quality checks and interpretation of data

• Create presentations to provide an insight into trends to assist various stakeholders with their decision making.

• Support the insights group to develop and implement strategies and cross departmental projects

• Communicate with international Category Management counterparts on global/ country projects

• Creating presentations to provide an insight into trends to assist the Purchasing Team with Category Reviews

 

What you’ll need

You will have a third level degree and more than 2 years experience in retail or consumer goods with strong analytical skills and proven experience in manipulating data to bring about actionable insights – some experience in Data Analysis is required. You will have superb communication skills both written and verbal in English and a proactive and driven approach with a strong work ethic. You will have proven skills using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel & Word and be a great multi-tasker with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
