Sarah Pope was awarded Contracting Recruitment Consultant of the Year at the 2019 National Recruitment Federation (NRF) Recruitment Industry Awards on Friday night (29 November).
Pope has been with RECRUITERS since April 2016, initially joining as our In-Life programme manager before moving into contracting recruitment and becoming our contracting division manager after just more than a year.
In 2019, she had the opportunity to contribute to the development of an upcoming Level 8 apprenticeship in recruitment, which will be run by NCI and is due to launch in 2020.
Sarah’s dedication to her clients, contractors and her own team are a major reason why she was honoured at the 2019 NRF awards. “I’m completely humbled but absolutely delighted to have been awarded Contract Recruitment Consultant of the Year 2019 at the National Recruitment Federation awards,” said Pope.
“I’m so lucky to be working with such a fantastic group of contractors and clients, which makes my role so enjoyable and I love the variety that every day brings. I’ve had so many opportunities this year to learn, grow and get involved in new projects, none of which would have been possible without the support of a phenomenal team of colleagues and leaders in RECRUITERS.”

Congratulating Pope on her win was Donal O Donohue, President of the NRF. “As an industry our mission is to promote ever increasing standards and professionalism. So, within our own sector, it is important to acknowledge the top operators who consistently deliver for their clients and firms”, he said.
RECRUITERS managing director Gerard Doyle praised Pope’s work and dedication. “Sarah has an incredible ability to take on large volumes of work and deliver to all of her clients with very tight deadlines. In the midst of this, she is a mentor and leader for newer consultants who strive to emulate her performance,” he said. “I’m delighted that her hard work and dedication has been recognised by the industry.”
As well as Pope’s phenomenal win, RECRUITERS was also shortlisted for Permanent Recruiter of the Year, Best in Specialism, Medium Agency of the Year and Best Agency Online. The company has previously won a number of NRF awards, including Best in Specialism for Sales and Marketing and Small Agency of the Year.
The 13th annual National Recruitment Federation Awards were presented at a gala ceremony in The Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, hosted by Dragons' Den investor Gavin Duffy and attended by 350 industry personnel.
The annual NRF awards scheme is run in association with LinkedIn, Recruit Ireland.com and the Irish Independent. There were more than 200 entries from recruitment companies countrywide evaluated by this year’s adjudication panel, which comprised senior industry figures from Ireland and the UK as well as academics.
